By the time a dog reaches one year of age, it will typically have developed a well-rounded set of skills, including:

- Advanced retrieval abilities, showcasing precision and reliability
- Strong obedience, responding effectively to commands
- Fundamental whistle skills, ensuring clear communication
- Consistent and dependable recall in various environments
- Calmness and steadiness in response to gunshot sounds
- Immediate response to a stop whistle command
- Understanding of directional cues, following guidance with ease
- Complete house training, adapting well to indoor living
This level of training establishes a solid foundation for further development.
