Residential Training
At Riverggins, we offer tailored residential training programs for your dog to learn new gundog skills or enhance the ones they already possess.
While residing in one of our purpose-built heated indoor kennels, your dog will be trained in the essential skills required for participation in the shooting field or for an active household & family life.
For dogs that are more advanced, this is a prime opportunity for them to reach their full potential.
*If you are interested in having your dog trained for the shooting field, please continue reading for details on sending your dog to us to get them ready for the season
Picking up Apprentice
Bookings are now open for the upcoming shoot seasons picking-up team apprenticeships.
We are looking for canine apprentices to join our
picking-up team for the shooting season
from October to January.
The program is ideal for young, inexperienced dogs, as well as older dogs looking for shoot day experiences, which include game retrieval in partnership with the Riverggins team, complemented by customized training between shoots.
Participating in shoot days is vital for the growth of young working dogs, offering them the opportunity to engage with the shooting environment, familiarize themselves with novel sounds, and manage their excitement while working alongside or observing more experienced dogs.
*Note - your dog must meet the required training standards to take part in this experience. Should they not meet these criteria, we encourage you to explore the pre-season residential training opportunities with us.
