A six-month-old Riverggins trained dog would have achieved the following skills:

- Proficient heel work both on and off the lead
- Retrieving to a high standard without distractions
- Strong obedience
- Basic whistle commands
- House training
- Socialisation with other dogs
- Recall to their chosen name
- Gundog training
